Intel® Xeon® Processor C5500/C3500 Family with Intel® 3420 Chipset

Formerly Picket Post (Jasper Forest + Ibex Peak PCH)

The integration of PCI Express* lanes into the processors eliminates the need for a separate I/O hub chip, decreasing chip count and saving on overall system power. The processors offer better performance-per-watt over previous generations and incorporate PCIe* non-transparent bridge, RAID, and DRAM self-refresh features.

  • Intel® QuickPath Technology: Delivers bandwidth improvement for data-intensive applications.
  • Intel® Virtualization Technology (Intel® VT): Hardware-assisted virtualization support in processors and Intel® Virtualization Technology (Intel® VT) for Directed I/O (Intel® VT-d) in chipsets.
  • Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology (Intel® HT Technology): Boosts performance for parallel, multi-threaded applications.
